Dr. Mohammed Jamal is the Managing Director at Kapita Research, Iraq’s leading private-sector market research institution. The firm supports international and local brands with management consultancy services while advancing work in economic development, entrepreneurship, and data-driven policymaking. He leads national initiatives on SME behaviour, the digital economy, ICT investment, and Iraqi consumer trends, aiming to strengthen private and public sector decision-making through localised insights and scalable solutions.
A Chevening Scholar, Dr. Jamal holds a medical degree from the University of Baghdad and a Master’s in Entrepreneurship and Innovation from Royal Holloway, University of London. His shift from clinical training to research and policy was driven by a desire to contribute to Iraq’s economic and institutional recovery through evidence-based approaches.
He is also the founder of the Iraqi Business Landscape Magazine and iData, platforms dedicated to democratising access to economic and business data in Iraq.
